Brick mix-up!?

I was looking at the brick manfacturer's website (Austral Brick) and discovered that the brick we have selected ("Malt") looks quite different to the picture we posted much earlier on our blog (i think that one is called "Mushroom"). I always thought our brick would be fairly light but it could be lighting at the gallery playing tricks on our eyes, or the gallery could have had a brick mix-up, or the manufacturer could have changed the brick's colour since it was 6 months ago when we saw it. Anyway here is the picture of the brick "Malt" taken from the brick manufacturer's website and to be honest i quite like this one! However we opted for natural grey mortar rather than off-white mortar shown in this picture, reason being that the front of our house will be fully rendered, plus it costs $1000 to "upgrade" to off-white mortar. We don't think it will look too bad :)

Our land has finally settled!!

Yay!!! Our land has finally settled on the 12th of March!! :D After being told December 2009, it got delayed till Januray 2010, then February, and finally it got settled by our conveyancer and all parties involved on the 12th of March which is the same day our lease ended on the rental property. What a coincidence.. We are not homeless btw :p and have just moved to a new rental property.

So there we go, now we just wait till the bank gives us the green light to go ahead with building our house.

Some nicer pictures of Aurora :) :)

Pictures taken today of some of the parks and facilities available at Aurora right now. I drove over today to play some basketball (court approx 1km from where we are building) after work and realised the grass was sooooooooo green! All thanks to recycled water being readily available at Aurora's gardens and parks, plus the heavy rain we had for the past week. Anyway here are some pictures, quite a bit different to the grey dusty construction site pictures you all have been seeing :p

BBQ area + Park (1 km from our house)

Check out the GREEEEEEN grass!!

Basketball court, not half a court like some estates (1 km from house)

Future tennis courts x 4!! (1 km from house)

Another popular park near the display village.

A nice small park between a group of houses.
